Vacation Rental Program

The South Point Vacation Rental Program offers residents the opportunity to earn rental income when their apartment is not in use. As the prime location, intimate setting, fine furnishings, and exclusive appeal suggest, a premium pricing structure will be utilized at South Point, providing owners the opportunity for greater revenue potential. The team at South Point Hotel, Inc. has extensive experience in hospitality and hotel management and marketing. Owners can rest assured that the best practices will be utilized in order to maintain a high occupancy rate and a strong reputation as a top tier luxury resort.

South Point owners have the distinct option of choosing not to participate in the rental program. A resort fee will apply—in addition to the maintenance fee—in that the owner will still be allowed to use those services provided for the benefit of the overnight guest. Beach and pool services, reception, concierge services, telephone, PBX, cable/satellite TV and internet access are included to all South Point guests and residents.

Location

The hotel condominium is adjacent to the Yacht Club Marina at Falmouth Harbour and within walking distance of the world’s only surviving Georgian dockyard at English Harbour.  Together, these two internationally renowned marinas are visited by some of the finest yachts in the world; and are also home to three of Antigua’s most popular events and great attractions: Antigua Sailing Week, held at the end of April through to May; Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta in April; and the Antigua Classic Yacht Meeting in December. Each event attracts thousands of visitors to the area each year. Falmouth Harbour in particular was built to cater specifically to the mega-yachts, with dockage for vessels up to 330’ with a draft of up to 20’ both stern-to and alongside.

The harbour lies close to the eastern end of the Sherkley Mountains, a range of hills skirting Antigua’s south coast. Monk’s Hill, the easternmost peak in the range, lies immediately to the north of the harbour.

English Harbour, Antigua’s graceful and evocative historic district, is focused on the fifteen square miles of Nelson’s Dockyard National Park. Developed as a base for the British Navy in the great age of sail, the harbour served as the headquarters of the fleet of the Leeward Islands during the turbulent years of the late 18th century. Today Nelson’s Dockyard has been completely restored, and it is now the only Georgian dockyard in the world.

Further above English Harbour, at Shirley Heights, are the partially-restored fortifications of the harbour’s colonial observation post; the view from Shirley Heights extends out over the harbour and far across the Caribbean to Montserrat and Guadeloupe. On Sundays the vista is enhanced by barbeque and live music at the bar there (Steel Band music from 3-6 pm & reggae from 6-9). Shirley Heights can be reached via Lookout Trail, a nature walk that rises from the harbour through a forest of trees.

Ideally situated at Falmouth Harbour, South Point offers numerous entertainment options and is within walking distance of some of Antigua’s most popular bars and restaurants. Coffee houses, ice cream parlors, shopping centers and sports facilities are also nearby, each adding to the dynamic atmosphere of this high profile community.  The carefree, laid-back lifestyle of vacationers, yacht owners, and expatriate residents is perfectly complemented by the seasonal buzz of activity that surrounds the area, drawing visitors from around the world to the various competitions, sailing regattas, and festive parties held each year.
