Located in Estate Catherineburg, deep inside the National Park, this two-acre estate provides a sanctuary amid ambrosial gardens and lush subtropical forests. The stately wrought-iron gates of Le Chateau open onto an expansive half-acre lawn, complete with Christmas palms, fruit trees and a myriad of tropical blossoms. As you stroll across the grass, a brick atrium with a fountain pool, colorful flowering plants and a multitude of arches beckon you to enter the private world beyond. This is one of the most striking of Cathrineburg villas. Rare tropical hardwoods and island stonework grace the interior of this luxurious villa. The main living floor has 28-foot ceilings and large arched windows, which surround the living room, formal dining area and full kitchen.

Relaxation is an art at this finest of St. John villas. Outside, on the front balcony, you are treated to panoramic views as you lounge, dine, or relax in the hot tub. The villa’s pool lies nestled in the tropical gardens outside the veranda. Upstairs and on the level below, Le Chateau offers two very private bedroom suites, each with its own bath, sitting area and balcony. While it is only twenty minutes from St. Thomas by convenient hourly ferry, St. John is the peaceful, uncommercialized paradise of island fantasies. Getting around the island is easy. Cruz Bay, the major town where the ferry docks, is on the west end of the island facing Red Hook in St. Thomas. It is connected by well maintained paved roads (see map) to most of the bays & beaches & to Coral Bay, the picturesque yacht harbor on the east end of the island.  Several local agencies, all a short walk from the ferry dock, offer rental cars, jeeps & canopied trucks by the day or week. Colorful canopied taxis also line the dock all day & evening, offering rides to every island destination & tours.
